Personal Prayer Requests
Thank you for visiting this page. I am asking for prayer for my son, Adam Sherrill, who is a soldier in the U.S. Army, and is now serving in Afghanistan. I am very proud of my son, and I am honored to have him serve, but needless to say, I worry.
Many ears ago, I bought this beautiful card which had, on one side, a very beautiful and unusual sketch of Jesus, and on the other, a "Prayer for Those in Service." Never in my wildest dreams did I think for a moment that I would be praying this prayer for my own child. But here it is:
Lord Jesus, Savior of the World and King of Peace,
watch over our sons and daughters in the service of their country.
Protect them from the physical and moral dangers of military life.
Keep them close to You, and help them live the Commandments.
Lord Jesus, give them courage to serve their country with honor and dignity.
Be with them when they are in danger;
strengthen them when they face harships.
Above all, Lord, grant that when their service is finished,
they may return to us, sound in mind, body and soul. Amen.
